Choral music provides the remarkable experience of body, mind, and spirit working together to enhance learning, increase confidence and create a supportive learning community for young singers.
Generous donors like you enable Lumina Youth Choirs to fulfill our mission to offer passionate young singers the opportunity to explore and experience the power of music in their lives. Tuition and concert admission fees alone do not cover the cost of providing exceptional choral training and life-changing performance opportunities for our students. Your gift is essential to bridging this divide.
Lumina Youth Choirs is committed to:
Developing musicianship, vocal technique and performance skills through experiencing quality choral music of many styles
Educating young musicians through sight-singing and music theory instruction
Inspiring artistry through presentation of high-quality, engaging performances
Building a community of friends where young musicians can grow together in their love of music and singing
Providing a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages participation of singers and families of diverse backgrounds
Advocating the life-long benefits that are inherent in choral music making, such as teamwork, problem solving, interpersonal communication and self-discipline
Currently over 140 students, representing five counties in the Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Hernando), are enrolled in the program. Our choirs include Stele (advanced choir for high school women), Voci de Lumina (chamber ensemble for high school singers), Amiaza (intermediate choir for singers grades 6 - 12), and Aurora (Children's Choir - for students in grades 2 - 5).
